ASU Free Online Course on Technological, Social, and Sustainable Systems


Arizona State University is currently offering free online course on Technological, Social, and Sustainable Systems. This 3 credit hour course satisfies the Humanities, Arts and Design (HU) general studies requirement at Arizona State University.
In this free online course, applicant will explore how social, technological, and sustainable systems are interacting to create the modern world, and how applicant can use that knowledge to create a better one in this credit-eligible course. The course will start on August 18, 2016.

About This Course

Understand the impact of technology on sustainability and society, using relevant historical examples and current issues in the news, and gain insight on the cultural frameworks within which ideas such as sustainability and different technologies are understood and evolve. You’ll also explore emerging technologies from the Industrial Revolution through present day, leading to a future that will be complex and challenging, and in many ways look like science fiction.
This 3 credit hour course satisfies the Humanities, Arts and Design (HU) general studies requirement at Arizona State University. This course may satisfy a general education requirement at other institutions; however, it is strongly encouraged that you consult with your institution of choice to determine how these credits will be applied to their degree requirements prior to transferring the credit.

Allenby is currently Lincoln Professor of Engineering and Ethics, President’s Professor of Civil, Environmental and Sustainable Engineering, and Professor of Law, at Arizona State University.


Requirements

-Learner must enroll in the Verified Certificate option to be eligible for credit upon completion of the course.
-Learner must abide to all course and academic integrity policies throughout the entire course.
-Learner must receive a passing grade of a C or better in the course.

IFR Merit Based Scholarships for International Applicants, 2015


The Institute for Field Research is offering merit based scholarships to students attending IFR programs. Each Merit-Based scholarship is $2,500. This scholarship has no cash value and will be awarded as IFR field school tuition reduction only. Applicant must be current student or graduated in the past five years for any institution of higher education (community college, university, etc.) anywhere in the world.

STEM Scholarship for Women in Management in Germany, 2015

The Einstein Forum and the Daimler and Benz Foundation are offering a fellowship for outstanding young thinkers who wish to pursue a project in a different field from that of their previous research. Chinese Government Scholarship-WMO Program is available in the field of meteorology, hydrology, and water resources supervision & management in China. This scholarship is available for pursuing undergraduate and master’s degree and doctoral degree program.
